Hi I bought some K7 jeans in May, unfortunately I had a front wheel washout on a country lane on Monday resulting in a 20mph slide along the road on my right side with my bike on top of me. As you can see from the attached photograph although the outer fabric of the jeans are damaged the inner fabric remains intact and that combined with the armour resulted in protection of my outer leg on the right side. The ‘United Kingdom Conformity Assessed’ (UKCA) mark is the new conformity assessment mark for the UK and will need to be placed on products as a means of showing conformance with applicable UK legislation, by a UK Government Approved Body (such as SATRA).
The legislation came into force on 1st, January 2021 and manufacturers and suppliers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have a year to transition to this new certification system after which time the CE mark will no longer be recognised by the GB market.
